Player rankings
Staff only. Our own Pit level from every score entered on our games pages: open play, leagues and Battle in the Pit. It's on DUPR's scale and starts from each member's linked DUPR, but it only counts games played here. Players don't see it.
How the rating works
- Members who linked DUPR in CourtReserve start at their DUPR doubles level. Everyone else starts in the middle (the typical linked member's DUPR). A side's strength is its two players' average.
- Beating a stronger side earns more than beating a weaker one; losing to a weaker side costs more.
- The score counts too: winning 11-2 moves the rating more than 11-9, but any win beats any loss.
- Your first 10 games move the rating faster, so new players find their level quickly. Under 5 games, a rating is a rough guess.
- People are matched by first and last name. A set team “Drew & Sam” counts for both. If someone shows up twice (“Jim” and “Jim Smith”), tap “Merge into…” on the short one. The setup page also suggests full names as they're typed.
- A timed game the horn ended before anyone reached the target score (say 7-6) counts half.
- “Rusty” means no games here for 60 days. They keep their place on this list, but for seeding they count halfway back to the middle.
- It's shown on DUPR's scale: a quarter level (0.25) better means winning about 2 out of 3 games against that player. It won't equal DUPR exactly, since DUPR also counts games played elsewhere.
Organizers can seed a Ladder or King of the Court with it: “Sort by Pit rating” on the setup page, or in the organizer list before the first score. New names go in the middle.
