Games / How it works
Run games in a minute
Watch it once, then set up any night from your phone. Players don’t need an app or an account.
The steps
- 1Tap what you’re runningOpen play, Battle in the Pit, or Leagues & events (league night, set-partner teams, round robin, King of the Court, gauntlet) fills in the format, timer and courts. “Same as last time” (under Leagues & events) repeats your last setup on that phone. “Change settings” shows every option (games to, time cap, courts).
- 2Add who’s hereTap today’s session under “Load who signed up in CourtReserve today” and everyone who signed up fills in. Or paste names, tap names used before, or tap Say names. Teams go one per line, like “Drew & Sam”. League nights fill in last night’s names, ranked by the league table.
- 3Pick a PIN and startYour organizer PIN fixes scores, adds late players, puts the games on the court TV and ends the night. Tick “Show it on the court TV”, then tap Start the games.
- 4Start the gamesEveryone finds their court on the TV or their phone. Tap Start game (Start round in league formats) and the clock begins. With a time cap, the music pauses at 2 minutes left and the horn sounds at the cap: the side ahead wins, tied plays one more point.
- 5Players enter scoresOne player per game taps Enter score. In open play and Battle in the Pit the next game on that court comes up right away; in league formats the next round starts when every court has a score. Sit-outs are shared evenly.
Good to know
- Lost the page? Type the 4-digit code at picklepitstop.com/games, or scan the QR code on the TV.
- Wrong score saved? Open Organizer at the bottom of the games page, enter your PIN and tap Fix. The original score stays in the record.
- Someone arrives late or needs a break: + Add a player or Break (players can do it themselves if you left that on). In open play, a Break before the game is started frees the spot right away: the next people in line take the court. In league formats, the organizer taps Redraw round before Start.
- Done for the night: Organizer → End the games. The TV goes back to the slideshow (it also does that on its own after 25 minutes with no scores).
